Ok...so I've just installed a new clutch, new ball and ramp, and made sure everything was nice n tightened up. Now I'm having issues with mis-adjustment in my clutch.
The primary chain is exactly to spec, the cable is being adjusted properly for clearance, and everything is installed correctly. When I start the bike and hit 1st, it pulls forward so bad now that it stalls itself out unless I'm moving.
My thoughts on what it possibly could be:
Adjusting screw for the ball and ramp
The pressure spring that fits over it
And the threaded key that holds the ball and ramp in place
Or the slack adjuster for the primary chain
Everything else is pretty much brand new. There were no signs of sheared gears/sprockets or damage to any major components.
Your thoughts? I may just replace the above parts anyways, but I could always use a good brainstorming session for other possibilities.
Good point...it was moving ok when I was trying to readjust it real quick before work. I'll have to check that out. Aside from that I really can't think of anything else it could really be...the cable is brand new and working about as good as a cable can, lol.
Hey bud, any chance that you tightened the pressure plate nut (#10 in the pic) down? Because I believe the manual says that tighten until finger tight then back a 1/4 turn. It's supposed to have slack in it for the clutch to perform right. Just throwing the thought out there.
