Well a normal adjustment to spec should take care of any issues at all with the primary chain. It can be adjusted without having to remove the entire primary cover just to find a tight spot.
Now 6o66er, that's got to be of the funniest, illogical, nonsense statements I've seen from you. Just how would one go about adjusting the primary chain if they removed the primary cover? The adjuster is mounted in the cover. j/k

My only real point to all this is that it's NOT that serious of an issue on an 07 and there aren't many things that can cause it to go out of adjustment in the first place.

And yes, I realize I'm being a jackass about it...but that's because it's honestly not that serious. That and I've been awake since 2pm yesterday and I'm slowly losing my MIND.

Working four 12.5 hour shifts a week is getting to me...I think. It makes me cranky and slightly insane at times.

Tight spots are also a way to tell when a chain needs replacing. My buddie's Softail has about 21K miles and when we checked his chain, we found a tight spot that when you rotated to the loose side, it had about one inch freeplay. He is going to replace soon. Along with sprockets.

At my plant where I work, we always use the tight spot comparison for chain maintenace. They do wear and its almost impossible for every link to wear evenly no matter what type of chain it is. Just my .02
Don't get us wrong, sure chains can and do have tight spots to varying degrees. My point for the first timers, is to not be concerned if they can't really find one point in the rotation that's noticably tighter than the rest of the chain.

If you miss finding a tight spot on the primary chain and make the adjustment, the result will be a noticabe whine from the primary when you take it for a spin. If you hear that whine after you do the adjustment, you've got it too tight. Just back the adjuster off a bit.

I've also never found a tight spot (on my primary chain). However, the last time it was adjusted it was done by HD during the clutch replacement. That maintenance is on my agenda for later today, it's probably getting about time, in mileage, that I look for the evasive tight spot again.
