Default Apes to Drag Bars

Hey guys, I went from 10" apes this weekend to drag bars. Still have the longer cables, but I've re-routed them and they look alright. My problem is that I can't turn from lock to lock without hitting the tank. I'll need risers eventually, but will I be alright until then?

Does the tank interference limit your turn radius alot or a little? You'll want to make sure that you can turn when you get to the twisties....

I definitly would NOT ride until you can fully turn the bars. Best case outcome I see is trashing your tank.

You'll be okay. I had this issue with my 3" risers before I got my 6"ers for about a week or so. Rode every day in between with no problems. Just be careful when you park it...keep the front end as straight as possible to prevent it from swinging down and smackin the tank.

If you angle them up a little bit, they won't hit quite so soon, and if you get em just right, they'll clear the tank lock over by about 1/16". It kinda sucks but it'll work for a little bit if you need to ride.

Personally I've never seen someone turn all the way to the steering lock during normal riding. Don't know how and where you ride specifically, but if it gets that crazy, I definitely wanna come hang out with you for a few days .

I guess I got lucky with the peanut tank, mine hits the stopper about 1/4" from the tank even with the mirrors mounted upside down.
You may find that you can only see your arms in your mirrors now with the drags, if so, try mounting your mirrors below the bars, they work perfectly that way.
