FIRST WASH
I have never taken a hose to my bike before and want to give it a good bath. Are there certain areas I want to make sure I dont get wet? I bought some supplies, spoke brush, microfiber cloth. not exactly sure on what to do here. I believe you start at the top and work your way down, sound right?

There have been a number of posts concerning the batterys being drained after washing your bike. That happened to me. It seems that the way a certain cable is routed on the bikes, that water slides down the cable and lands in the fuse and relay box behind the battery cover and corrodes the relays and fuses and causes a short that drains the battery. A tech tip was issued by HD about cleaning the corrosion off the contacts of the relays and fuses and to use dielectric grease to protect them and for riders to be careful how you wash your bike to keep it from happening again. Just a heads up to everyone here.
