Default Rain Gear

Ordered some rain gear (thus ensuring not to need it) from Nelson Riggs. Stuff showed up today and is pretty nice, comes in 5 colors (I went with the Black & Orange). Paid $59.95 (shipping is free from thier website) and stuff took about 5 days to arrive via UPS Ground. Similar rainsuit at HD runs about $100. Anyway, good stuff for good price so I figured I'd let you guys and gals in on it. Happy (and dry) riding.

I just wait till my clothes get wet enough that the rain hitting me doesn't matter anymore lol...

I've tried that method and found it to be slightly less appealing

I just don't have saddle bags and don't really like wearing a backpack so I just deal with whatever is thrown at me.... I'd like to have rain gear but don't really have anyplace to put it.

I keep mine in an Icon tank bag, which fits quite nicely over the passenger portion of my seat and holds magneticly to the rear fender.

Good deal. I have the HD Canal St gear and it has been worth every penny.

I just throw it into a roll bag and strap it to the sissy bar when I expect rain or go on rides farther from home.

Tourmaster basic rainsuit...have only used it ONCE, and that was when I was already soaked from a torrential downpour. It worked well even though I was already wet. It definitely took the chill off and I didn't get any wetter! It rained for 125 miles, so yes, it did come in handy!

I have the HD waterproof hoody that works really well whether it's raining or not. And I have a North Face Apex technical jacket that's turning into my favorite jacket! Not totally waterproof, but has proven itself in the rain once or twice. It also cuts the chill from early morning/late evening, and is not overly stifling at even 80 degrees. It has armpit/side zipper vents that provide air flow at those temps. Darn versatile lightweightjacket!

When A&N stores were still in my part of the world, they had a rainsuit that was only $20. worked like a charm. That has been three years now and it's getting a bit tattered and I could use a new one. Thanks for the heads up. How small does it pack up?

I am able to get it into the Icon tank bag which is maybe 7 inches square and 5 inches deep. I roll mine up and with some old blousers from when I was in the Army. Takes a little work but can be done. That said, I haven't had to repack them on the road yet, which always is more entertaining.
