Default fuel range

well, I found out exactly how far I can go on a tank yesterday... 168 miles. Had to coast in to the gas station. Still had reserve, but I had enough momentum to coast the last few hundred feet to the pump...

So how much fuel did it take? Around 3.5 gallons? Just curious to know how much reserve you have. Mine's an '07 Low, so the only way I can get brave enough to test my range is have a gallon of fuel strapped onto the luggage rack!

Doin some spirited ridin? that's 46.02 mpg. o/l's 1200R has the 4.5 tank installed on it with a Mikuni carb and S/E cams and usually gets around 49-50 in most types of ridin.[sm=escape.gif]

Last fall the wife and I were out looking at the colors and missed a gas stop. She went 152 miles on a tank with her nightster. When I filled it up it took 3.2 gallons. 47.5 mpg I figured. Man was I startin to sweat as the miles racked up

I was stroking pretty good on the back roads - 85 - 90 mph. Was a beautiful warm day and I was enjoying the hell out of it! [8D]

seems like the 883 gets much better gas mileage than the 1200
