Default advice on replacing belt guards

I want to replace the upper and lower belt guards with the chrome ones on a 2007 sporty. I notice that the lower shock bolt holds the upper belt guard in place. what is the best way to install these two new guards.

I removed mine quite a while ago but as I remember the guard was on the nut side, I just removed the nut, pulled the guard and put the nut back on.

Before you go buying and adding anything, just take them off for a while.

You might find that less is more!

Default RE: advice on replacing belt guards

I was thinking about pulling my belt guards off but with the Base Police and Safety Departments being hard on motorcycle riders I figured I would keep them on for now. It seems like they put more rules on Military Members to keep them off of them than actually just keeping them safe on them.
