Default Windshield help

I'm getting a lot of buffering on the top of my head with the windshield installed. It's a smaller shield that attaches to the bars. Should the shield be closer to me? I have it raised as high as it goes. Any help would be appreciated.

Default RE: Windshield help

I have an 06 1200 Custom with the HD quick detach windshield and I have been experiencing the same thing. The top of the windshield is at about nose level when sitting upright and my head is vibrating to the point of not being able to see clearly at highway speeds. I have found that the problem for me is the wind coming from underneath the windshield and then up my legs and chest and hitting my helmet. The vibration is amplified if you don't have your helmet really secure. There is another post with a guy who installed a set of Memphis Shades lowers to deflect most of that wind away. I ordered these a few days ago and will be getting them installed and test them out.

Here is the link to the post of those lowers.

When you are riding, try putting your left arm across your chest and see if that helps the buffering....If it does, its the wind coming from underneath, not over the top of the windshield.

+1!!I run NO windshield and youll be amazed what taking off that crappy little visor does to smooth out your ride. ...Assuming you run a helmet with a visor...

My helmet has a visor, I'm going to take it off before I ride in the morning. Thanks for the tip! Hope it works for me too...

I removed the visor and took the highway to work and it did cut down on quite a bit of the buffering. I finally received my Memphis lowers and hope to get them installed in the next day or so. I am leaving on a ride to Minneapolis next Friday so I need to get these installed ASAP.

The angle of your windshield will also have some effect. A large fork bag will help&nbsp\\;block the air coming from underneath also.

Wore a headband under my helmet, it makes it fit better and holds my glasses tighter to my head, hence, less shaking to my brain, lol.
