As in a dork that rides a bagger and ranks on Sportsters. Not that bagger riders are dorks, obviously. There are plenty of dorks riding all kinds of bikes. Maybe I'm one of um, I don't know. Hope not.

It all comes down to some people need to validate their choices by putting down other people. If you think about it the world is grouped into little camps, Chevy guys vs Ford Guys, Harley riders vs Metric riders, Apple computer folks vs Windows computer folks it just goes on and on. And in every single case there are a small group of people who think there choice is best and make sure they tell you why yours is not. Its all in perception, imagine what some small minded people would think if as a guy I a rode a Pink Sporster I can here the laughter now, imagine if I drove a pink pickup truck same thing, now if I drove a big old Pink Cadillac thats cool to those same people because Elvis made it cool.
I get this from every side occasionally, I have a big Yamaha Roadstar 1700 and get grief from the Harley guys, the sport bike riders and my Vespa buddies. When I am on my sportster I get the same isn't that a chick bike thing every now and then, but I also get lots of folks who like me have the big touring bike and comment how fun a sportster is to ride. Now if you want to get tons of unsolicited comments ride a mint green Vespa around town, every thing from that so cool to what are you gay.
My opinion is the following - this is america and you can do what ever the hell you want as long as it does not infringe on other people. If you want to ride a bike covered in lime green **** carpet and pink tires I will fight for your right to do so, I personally would not be caught dead on one but that does not mean I don't support your right to have one.

I would encourage someone with a bike covered in like green **** carpet and pink tires to ride with me, but only if he put a big basket on the handlebars, with tassles and a bell....Just so I could see peoples responses
Who cares....Ride your bike... I've only had one person tell me my bike is a girls bike and its because I was still sitting on the bike and hadn't stood up yet... Once I walked in his direction and he realized he was about a footshorter than mehe decided to comment on how fun they are to ride and I laughed, shook my headand walked past him into the store.
People make fun of other peoples **** to make up for their own shortcomings, laugh it off and don't let it get to you... If you like riding the bike thats all that matters.

deal here too.....the chick bike thing isnt what ticked me off it was the guy saying it was for under budget people...u can ask any of the four people that went the the HD dealership with me last weekend and they will tell you when i walked in I walked straight to my sportster cause that orange and black caught my eye i didnt even look at price untill we sat down for the paperwork...i didnt even pay any attention to the other bikes. NEWAYS its 88 degrees outside today im gone to ride harley
