Belt Guards

Anyone run into any problems when removing the belt guards off their bike? I have a nightster and I have seen a lot of them removed. Just curious.

So long as you're not hualing a passenger It's not going to hurt anything.I've had mine off for over a year but I keep it&nbsp\\;just in case I ever decide to rig for two up.

Mine's removed, and ride 2-up all the time....Haven't had an issue.

No issues either, once you see it with it off you'll never want to put it back on again, and yes two up here is no problem either, the passenger peg is a long way from the belt.

A long time ago, a person who was wearing shorts, flip-flops, and fingerless gloves was riding on the back of a Sportster and lost a toenail when their flip flop flew off and their foot nicked the chain...&nbsp\\; They in turn sued the moco and from there on in, BELTGUARDS, FENDERS, FULL FACED HELMETS, AIRBAGS, WIND SHIELDS, etc,&nbsp\\; all standard equipment.&nbsp\\; Don't ride without them!!

That was also when the lawyers had them add "disconnect the battery for fear of loosing your life" to every service operation in the service manual including changing brake pads!
