Muffler baffles/plugs
Quick question. How is punching out the half dollar sized plug that is about 10 inches into the muffler different than removing the baffles? This is not my area of expertise, but was wondering about the advantages (louder \\; bike, I'm sure) and disadvantages of just poking out that plug. Any info is appreciated. Please don't post and tell me to buy slip-ons, as I am just trying to learn about different inexpensive stock exhaust modifications. Thanks all...........................Mike

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. What I am unclear on, is how much those muffler plugs contribute to providing backpressure. I would think the crossover pipe would aid in providing adequate backpressure. Again, any help is appreciated................Mike

I have a set of stock mufflers that I completely removed the baffles out of. I will try to get a picture or two up so you can get a better understanding of what's inside those things.
