I raised my forks 1/4 in. on my 2007 XL1200R. It takes the corners much better and turns easier. I ran it up to 90 mph and it was stable at high speed as well. If you have a sportster and want to make it a little better in the corners, you may want to give it a try.[/align]

How did you raise it??? \\;\\\\\\; Did you add extra oil, change the spring??? Just what did you do to raise it 1/4 inch
For a 1/4" I assume he just slipped the forks down in the triple trees. \\; I wouldn't expect any noticeable change in handling with that small of a change.

Yes I lowered the front 1/4 inch. It does make a diffrance, just a little bit can make a diffrance.
I raised mine an inch... The custom front seemed low to me so I took off the caps and placed a 1" x 1 1/8" spacer on top of the spring and put the caps back... \\; Mind you that you will have to work a little harder to get the cap back on but it sure made my bike stance better... And yes, it still handles well thru all speeds...
I've played with sliding my fork tubes up/down a lot over a couple yrs. and 1/4" actually make s a huge differnce. Of course since I have apes I think you can feel a more immeidate change in steering vs. low bars.

OK, I'm confused, First you said raised, then you said lowered. \\; Is the front of the frame closer to the ground or farther away now?
