I have a '06 Sporster, I tried to start it this morning. It turned over and started but died. On next attempt to start the lights went dead and even with the key out of the ignition the speed \\;odmetor gauge jumps around. After sitting for about 30 minutes when the ignition is turned on the lights come on but as soon as you hit the start buttom the lights go out and there's nothing. Any sugestions.

Had the same thing on my 05. \\; Roll the bike back just a bit and try starting again. \\; Mine would give a clunk from the starter then all electrics died. \\; Only took between 5 and 10 minutes before electronics came back after failed attempt. \\; I think its caused by the idler gear or one of the others in there not being properly lined up. \\; Only had it happen once but took about 10 tries before it started and just before the last try I rolled the bike back a little. \\; Only needs an inch or so.
