security system removal
Why don't you just not use it instead of removing it?
 \\;
When I got my Softail a couple years ago it came with a bunch of extras, including the security system and FOB, etc...
 \\;
I never had a bike with the security system and didn't want to mess with it, and asked my mechanic friend if he would remove the whole thing.
 \\;
He told me to just throw the FOB in a drawer. \\; As long as you don't set the alarm as far as the bike is concerned it's the same as not having it even installed.
 \\;
I assume the security system on the Sportster is the same.

pull out the battery and replace the blinker module with a stock one. then remover the fob censor which is plugged into the blinker module and put the battery back in. then all you have to do is program the new blinker module and your all done. thats if you wanna take it out completely but if you take it to the dealer I'm pretty sure they can punch in a code and disarm the system and you won't need the fob anymore till you rearm the system. not really sure if they will do this but I think it can be done, hell you may be able to do it yourself if you search the electrical section here on the forum for the code.
