Pure Power
The only real way to tell if it helps is to dyno it, change the oil and then dyno it again on the same dyno in the same weather conditions on the same day with nothing being changed. \\\\\\; I have seen one person do two different dyno's on two different times of the year with no change to their car post two completely different set of numbers.
Yeah I got your bridge swingin!
\\\\; I guess it doesn't matter that a number of reputable rags have had articles ranting and raving, oh and I guess the dyno was setup to make it look like it had an increase huh? If any of you even had a clue as to where performance comes from besides more flow and compression, but obviously that's not the case. Next I s'pose I'll be hearin how the clutch and tranny don't do anything either. Maybe you clowns haven't heard yet, but friction is horsepowers worst enemy, so if there is more lube a flowin, then there'
's less friction, which in turn will free up power. Hmmmm hooda thunkit?
Also, friction has nothing to do with the Pure Power filter. It's the lower viscosity oil.
Can you give us a technical description on how an oil filter can increase HP?
Be my guest and by the filter, its your money.[:-]
The reusable oil filter looks cool, and it probably does a fine job of keeping the engine’s oil clean. But the filter is heavier (2 vs. 1 lbs.), and that would make the bike slower if anything. Don’t believe everything you read, and question anything you read.  \\;If you fail to see why an oil filter can’t increase horsepower (by 10 no less!), you need more knowledge/experience with engines. I’d imagine a company would have to make some pretty wild claims to get you to pay $200 for something that costs $5, but then P.T. Barnum did pretty well for himself too.  \\; \\;
 \\;
rdss- $199 plus shipping. There are no replacement anything, you take it apart and wash w/soap and water, then put it together again. The oil is $95 for 12 qts. which is cheaper than I pay for Redline. I should be gettin it this week or next, I'll keep ya posted.
That sounds about on par price wise with the Scotts i was looking at. \\; I did like that the Scotts had a reusable container and you replaced the inside if I remember correctly. \\; I do not know if I could trust rising and reusing something that is so important to keeping your engine alive. \\; Let us know how you like it.
The original post was in reference to the Pure Power filter, not oil. Sure, you could put straight 60w oil in a motor and dyno it, change to a 10w-40 motor oil and dyno again, and measure an increase in HP, duh, it has a lower viscosity. That has nothing to do with the filter. Note, the 10w-40 oil referenced in the article is not recommended in a Harley V-Twin other than during cold (northern) weather.

Yeah, I'm sure they had 60w, hell to get 8hp they probably had 80w at first. *******! They used 15w not 10. The article I read and cannot find was a bone stock Road Glide, everything was stock, not everything but the oil. Here is a more scientific explanation, read whole article.

On the filters website they only claim 5hp, I'm just goin off what the rag said.

A lack of intelligence can not be over come by name calling. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Bye Bye
Nope, it can't. But intelligence and name calling can sure \\;be used to highlight stupidity.
