I see you have a 1200. I cruised at 70 to 75 getting down to Myrtle Beach from MA, from morning to night. No problem keeping up with the 3 other bikes, all big twins.
I took mine on the interstate from Boise to Yakima and back. 780 miles or so anywhere from 60 to 75. No problems at \\; all. I much prefer the 55-60 range just for the view, but those roads add hours to the trip...
Hi, I usally cruise on the Interstates around here between 75-80MPH ( 06 1200 C ) . No problems with vibrations or power . This bike is a very comfortable ride. ....WVleo
Well, out in Big Sky Country, it's pretty easy and usually perfectly safe to cruise at 85-90 on most roads between towns (until dusk, that is.) Your Sporty is a motorcycle... the engine is designed to operate at sustained higher revs than what your ear is probably used to from cars. Just go with it.
People seem to forget that a 1200cc engine used to be a big bike. They will cruise in the 70-80 mph range all day long. If you are riding with people that have newer bikes with the 6 speed then your bike is going to be reving higher. But it is not going to hurt it.
I have no issue running at highway speeds with other bikes. Only issue I have is slower speeds with those geared differently.

You might speed in the Virginia's, but I dont go a mile over in the speed trap capital of the US. You kinda can get away with it.
It probably has less do with your engine and more to do with the way your bike is setup. \\; Most bigger bikes are setup for touring

Adding a windshield will make your ride feel much more comfortable at higher speeds
My group all BT and 2, 1200-C. We always run the Highways around 65-75 mph. One time I ran 80+ for over 40 miles no problems. I don't have mine on a lot but a Windsheild will make you feel better at higher speeds...
