Cycle Shack Slip-ons backfires bigtime

I would check for leaks in your exhaust system -I've read on other forums that exhaust leaks can cause popping and backfiring.
I had the HD shop put mine on.
I got the tappered style cycle shack slip-ons on my 1200C and I don't have popping on accel or decel.
I bought mine from Jireh Cycles - lowest price I could find.

Can someone with cycle shack slip ons tell me if there is a brackest that wraps around the pipe to join it to the header pipe. I have never noticed it on pics of peoples bikes but have noticed it on the dennis kirk website photo of the slip ons. I hear a lot of good things about cycle shack but dont want that bracket showing. Any help is appreciated.
