I have also been looking at this for a while.
I think i am going to order it soon and try it just to see what difference and/or no difference it makes.
Anybody else? what do you guys think?
My HD dealer will install it, and i have a pretty good relationship with them.
If and when i do i will post picts and opinion.
Still wanna know what you guys think.
Help us out.
I have a 41mm, 8 inch over front end on my Sportster, and I tried running with and without a fork brace and noticed no difference.
But then again, I'm a pretty conservative rider, not a 'road racer', so I don't over torque the front end by flying through curves or anything like that.
Probably they would be more beneficial if you were a more aggressive rider and spent a lot of time riding in the twisties.
But SuperBrace makes good products, and many of the folks I know with dual sport bikes run their products.
Look at it like this... the worst thing it will do is add some chrome and not improve the handling. The best thing it will do is improve the handling. Point out the downside again...
I have an '08 XL1200R and I installed the SE version at around 200 miles because the front end was just plain sloppy on the bike. The brace tightened it right up.
The brace made a world of difference. While I am not a road racer by any means, I don't fart around getting passed by Winnebagos in the twisties and I haven't met a road surface I wouldn't ride on.
And, skip having the dealer install it. It'll take you 15 minutes. Seriously, it's easier than checking your tire pressure.
a fork brace is a good idea if you are an agressive rider. Stiffens up the front and keeps the forks from twisting in the turns. Put it on yourself, it's easy as falling down. In my opinion, Superbrace makes the nicest ones, the Screaming Eagle one I had on my '02 was a P.O.S. the chrome started pitting before it was 6 months old.

Crap, does this mean I have to wash and polish mine? Dammit!!! I work so hard to get all that bug**** on the bike in the first place!!!
