Default Plexifaring 3

Has anyone purchased a Plexifaring 3 for their Sportster?

I have one for a Kawasaki KZ305 that I learned to ride on, but with the cooler months coming, I am looking for a windshield/faring that will keep the cold winds/weather off me while I ride my Sportster to work/on weekend rides etc...

I am pretty happy with the results I got with the faring on the Kawasaki, but how does it perform on the bigger, faster and more highway able Sportster?

Thanks!

Are you referring to the one made by National Cycles?

No, but I've been tempted to try it out just for laughs and giggles on road trips. Still, $150 is a lot of coin to lay out for something I have other equipment to battle the cold and rain (modular helmet, good gloves, heated grips, jackets). It's a little tall for my liking, and unless National Cycle has released a "Rain-X" type product that repels water (DO NOT USE RAIN-X ON PLEXI!!!!!), then I'd probably be hard pressed to see out the windscreen through all the water droplets on the shield. I also don't know if the quickset mounting hardware would get in the way of keeping my current quick detach low profile HD shield. That right there would be a deal breaker for me. But it at least LOOKS like it would extend the riding season to anything where the roads would be ice-free enough to ride. Speaking of looks, I keep thinking of bubble.

That is indeed the one I am speaking of. Yeah, $150 is a lot to shell out when there is other stuff out there.... I dont have a quick release windshield, but was hoping the Plexifaring would work better for me....

The plexifairing would certainly be cheaper! In fact you could get TWO plexifairings for the price of one quick release shield. I still prefer Lexan over acrylic, though.
