I just found a 2005 883 Low with 6k miles on it. It already has forward controls, screaming eagle slip ons, chrome oil cover, aftermarket two up seat with a sissy bar and a 4.2 gallon custom tank...
They are asking 4950...is this a deal?
I am 5'10" and approx 225lbs...this fits the price range...I just am looking for some opinions on whether this is a good deal and whether I am going to be comfortable on it.
I checked the NADA price range for a 2005 883L (with performance exhaust) and they show a 'Low Retail' of $4,020, and an 'Average Retail' of $5,243.
By the way, NADA prices are more realistic of the actual street prices than the more inflated prices shown by KBB, and are used as a price reference point by most banks and financial institutes.
With all the extras on the bike, and if it is in excellent condition, the asking price seems to be very reasonable.
Even so, if I were interested in purchasing the bike I'd make a cash offer a few hundred dollars less than the asking price. Many times sellers will go with a lower 'firm offer' rather than wait around and hope that someone will offer more.
It is actually at a dealership down the street...I was thinking about either dropping the price by 300 or asking for some leathers...just a thought, figured it is the end of the season and they might just want to get it off the floor.
If the bike 'fits you' (you mentioned it already has forward controls), looks and rides good, I would check with them and see if the 5,000 maintenance have been performed.
If not, try to work out a deal and see if they will include that in the asking price..
If the 5,000 mile maintenance has already been done, trying to get some free accessories or clothing would be worth a shot...
Yep...I agree....$300 isn't much off and won't make that much of a difference. Getting a leather jacket, helmet and some maint is the better way to go on this one. Good luck and post a pic when you get it.
