i think your only option is the rigid ones or relocate your signals to the license plate holder. Or remove the bags and put your signals back where they were.
I can be kind of lazy sometimes, so I bought rigid plates. Figured once I had the sissy bar and luggage rack on, I would probably never take it off. Plus I like the look of it on.
All you need to make what you have work is a longer bolt run through from backside (reguires dropping wheel down for access) or a piece of threaded rod the same thread size and appropriate length as well as some nuts and lock washers. Basically you replace your bolt with the threaded rod running it through the fender and detacheable hardware then into your signal. Use one nut and lockwasher to tighten down on signal side to keep the siganl from loosending on the rod and spacing it away from the side plate, then another to the detacheable barrel then lastly one on the backside of your fender to hold it all on. I did this for a short while when I had some saddlebags and it worked just fine. Typically you don't need this except with the style bags you have otherwise you relocate them to the tag bracket with factory kit or under the tail light with the softail style light bar.
If you go to the hardware store and get the right components it will work great, you just have to be a little creative.

And I traded in the nightster for a touring bike cause I didn't have the room for camping supplies or stuff like that for long weekend rides....................... Apparently I wasn't trying hard enough!!
Ok ty all for your ideas I spent the whole day working on my Bike and my back is killing me hehe BUT I got it on! I went with the license plate relocation kit the layback one in the HD catalog I didnt install it yet because it took me all day buying proper hardware to fit through the docking mounts and bags because the docking kit bolts just wasnt long enough. If I had to do it all over again I think I would of went rigid because after getting it all together I love the look and dont think I will take it off. I managed to put a few scratches on the paint behind the bags from all the several attemps to make this work I guess I will need to get alittle touch up paint Now One final question I have the framed chrome layback license plate thats located in the catalog next to the one I got today. Im wondering if i can drill the holes on the plate frame I have and just use the light bar from the kit is that possible? I will post new pics tomorrow when its all done and ty all for your help
