i have a XL1200L 3 months old after my last oil change at 2500 miles rode home then the next morning had no power at all battery was dead. Went tio the shop and they stated keep an eye on it. Did same thing took it back then they replace a control module and the battery.. 2 days later dead again.... back at the shop does anyone have a clue as to the possible drain with everything off????? or does the lemon law need to be applied????
Possibly a pinched/bare wire causing it to drain, or bad charging system. Could be a number of things. Did you have them put any extras on the bike when or since you bought it? In order to enact the lemon law, I think the bike would need to be serviced three times for the same exact issue, (with no resolution), and by at least two different shops. Not exactly sure though.
Lemon laws very from state to state, but I'm pretty confident that you have not met the requirements for any states lemon law. So far you have had it in twice for this problem, the first time they took the very reasonible position of wait and see if it does it again, it did. Then they made an attempt to fix the problem, it didn't. I work with electonics all day and can tell you that it is not always simple to find the problem, give them a chance to fix the problem again and if they can't solve it find some one who can. If it is only 3 months old the moco will fix it don't sweat the small stuff.
make sure you have the switch in the off position. You can remove the key in the acc. position which leaves everything on except the lights, this will drain a battery pretty quick. Ask me how I know.

pull your 2 relays out of the fuse box. i would bet the farm they have corrosion on one or both of them. when you wash your bike water flows into the box and causes this corrosion. i took my 07 in almost 6 times, 3 new batteries, etc. until they figured it out. then they cleaned out the fuse box and relays and put dilectic grease on all fusees and relays. have not had a problem since. they tried to tell me i left my key in the accessory position a few times too.
They found out exactly what wilburz was talking about the fuel pump relay had corrosion on it and even when out of the fuse box it was showing 2.9 draw and it should have been 0 on an open circuit.... Thanks for all the help...
