hi,
Are you asking what's the difference between stock and the samson exhaust? Samsons (at least the ones I have) are straight pipes so they're very loud and IMO sound awesome! Most of my buddies have slip ons and when we ride they say they can't hardly hear their bikes over mine.
Welcome . So what year and Make HD you got ? Sporty ?
I have a 04 1200 custom . Came with SEII [ off road race only slip fits] and a carb re-work .
I changed over to Samson Big GunIIs long style slashers. Flippen loud. But like all other long style OPEN pipes it can get a little Brassy/tinny sounding when you blip the throttle. Almost like something is viberating.
The cure and a trick to get back your low end is Make a set of Lolly pops. The samson pipes are already drilled for them. [1/4" hole]
The nice thing is you can adjust the the amount of back preassure and sound by changing the size of the washers and or turning them more open.
A lot of people don't like the Samson lne. I love mine . Great fit and finish . Look for them at dennis Kirk and JP cycles.
Vinnie
Feel free to contact and ask anything you like. Be glad to help a fellow biker
