No, it's Air Cleaner (air filter assembly). If that's the case, you would see oil dripping from the A/C cover and probably have it splattered on your right leg.

The OL's '04 1200C with 30k miles gets a half qt after about 1000 miles. I don't keep it at the "full" mark on the dip stick. I keep it about 1/2 way between full and low. My '05 883C, 7k miles, has about the same consumption. My '03 Softail, 38k miles, uses about 1/2 qt in 3k miles.

How about if it doesn't seem to be burning any at all? I haven't had to add a drop since the 5,000 mile service and it's just about to roll over 10,000 this weekend.

Update:

I took my bike in the dealer and they added oil and marked the level. Told me to ride 1,000 miles and come back. So a week later I took it back and it was down a qt. Was told to bring it in when I'm ready (that it wouldn't hurt the bike to ride it). So I took it in Monday.

Well they didn't call me, I called them this morning with "wazzup ?".
They said it was done and ready for me to come pick it up.
I asked what the verdict was (also lol) and was told they replaced the "top end" and the O rings. I hope that makes sense (being a newbie to bike engines).
They still need to call me back with cost.

If the top end is solid there should be virtually NO oil consumption between changes!
