you get what you pay for.....period......i have had both of those drug into my shop to work on....they are junk.....buy a buell and chop it if you are short on funds....buy american....are we not in enough trouble
I am a new rider and wanted a night train but had to get something 500cc's or under to start. So I got a Pag chopper. I hate to break it to you guys but my while on my 350lb, 300cc bike I was stopped at a light next to a Rocker C. Same color and all. Well he looked at my like I was trash (which is fine) until we both took off. With my free flow pipes, sprocket change, carb tuning and a home made intake? I smoked him by 2 bike lengths. You disagree? My 350lb's with 30HP against his 750lbs and 55hp at best, its power to weight ratio. Do the math and you will see. Of course I want a HD but whats a beginner to do? Buy a 250 honda? Just because its not an HD doesnt make every other make a piece of crap.
I forget who makes them, but there are bobber kits that have 200 cc engies and you build the bike yourself from under $2G. There was a guy last year around here that rode the crap out of one. It even had jocky shift since there was no clutch. Ok Looks like they are hardknock bobbers form the post above. I would love to get a 200cc for the wife.
I got my wife one used as her first bike. It's cheap but lite, and that's what she was looking for. You're not gonna win any drag races on the thing but it'll get her on the road and maintain hwy. speeds.
Oh and the drag race post against the rocker.....gotta raise the BS flag on that one!
