Clunky 1st gear?

Clunky 1st gear?
On a 883C is it normal when shifting from neutral in to first for it to make a harsh clunking sound? It’s always done it since I got it but it seems to be getting more noticeable. The clutch cable has also leaked from since I got it, no spots on the ground just seems to be blowing out while riding. Its an 07 and has a little over 2500 miles on it.

The clunk is normal. It's part of the charm. If it ever goes away in your first two years have the dealer replace it under warranty. Same with the cable thing, leaks a bit and collects road dirt...another standard feature that H-D designed in so you can buy their cleaning products.

lol, I remember when I first got my 883 I wondered the same thing. Now, I get nervous if I don't hear it!
Once I hear the clunk an imaginary staging light appears in my mind as if to say "Its go time!!!"
Ahh........ its the simple things that make life great aint it?
