Question Difference between 1200 conv. kits

What is the difference between all of those 1200 conversion kits out there? Quality of parts? More parts? More power?

I would think all of them being -- 1200 conversion kits -- they would provide the HP and TQ to equal a factory 1200, is that true?

A well built 1200/1250 will absolutely crucify a stock 1200! click here

Stock 883 heads are the limiting factor. You can bore the stock heads for larger valves or swap out the 883 for the newer 1200 heads or slap on Buell heads. You may also want to consider cams if you want to spank a factory 1200. The stock 883 (vs. 1200) gearing off the line might make it quicker initially, but I think a factory 1200 would prevail. Anybody got any head to head comparison?
I'm about to find out, but I can't speak from seat-of-the-pants experience yet.
Also, and I don't want to gossip, but there's been rumors about the '04 and up NHRS kits burning oil.

Since you have an 02, I would recommend you buy your stuff from HD. Get the 1200 jugs and then get the Thunderstorm heads and pistons along with a decent cam. You'll have a screamer.
