Default Technical question

I am getting a family members 1997 883 Hugger running again for him.

On the end of the choke cable there is a small built on ball, and to hook the cable to the choke needle assy., there is a small barrel connector. HD does not show this part in the part book. It does not come with a new cable or choke needle assy. Does anyone have any history with this and know what I am talking about and how to get one? This barrel connector looks similar to the ones the throttle cables hook up to the carb with.

If there is a better forum to put this in, please move it to the appropriate one.
Thanks for any help. TX

After looking some more, I should have put this in the technical forums, sorry

Not exactly sure but I think you are looking for a part called the 'starter valve' HD part # 27583-88

Unless it's broken or somehow non-operative, just use 600-grit or finer to clean up. It's basically just an "on-off" switch to add extra fuel for start-ups.

The part I need is what holds the starter valve to the choke cable. The choke cable has a small ball on the end of it and this part I need hooks onto this ball, then slides into a grove on the starter valve.
Thanks so far, keep the suggestions coming please!!!!

Are you talking about the needle that attaches at the end? Got a pic?

It's not the needle. I don't have a pic. The needle is attached to the starter valve (part #27583-88).
On the opposite end of the needle on the starter valve, there is a round slot. This connector slides into this round slot and connects the whole starter valve assy to the choke cable (part # 29238-92A). I know, I suck at explaining things. Thanks for the help so far
