Hey guys, maybe I am just being to nit picky, but thought I would ask. (I tend to notice things they may have always been there, but just now notice them) I basically just want to make sure its normal. When out riding on my 883, 0-MPH is pretty smooth, but once I start getting above MPH I start to feeling some pretty intense vibrations, especially in the forward control area, up through the bars. Does this seem normal? I can't really tell if its engine or bike vibrations. It doesn't matter if I am in Th or Th gear, I still have the same results.

The sporty will definately shake and rattle if you try to accelerate at 50 mph in 4th or 5th gear. The power band is around 3500 rpm which is about 50 mph in 3rd. Wind it up a little more and see if seems a lot smoother. I dont usually use 5th until 65.

My '08 Nightster does the same thing at the same speed. It goes away at 61 mph. My fiance's '03 1200C doesn't do this. I'm thinking most of you guys are right about the lugging. Sportys like to run at a little higher RPM. In addition to the slight lugging at that speed, in that gear, i think it also has do with the rubber mounted engine. Hers is rigid mounted.
