Default Choke

I have a 2006 1200L I notice when I pull the choke out and start her up the choke slowly moves in on its own long before it has a chance to warm up any ideas?

Needs to be tightened up. Mine 06 1200C does same I use a pice of fuel line to hold it open cut long ways and to hold enricher ( choke) out till I feel its ready to take off and let it close by its self. The adjustment not hard get yourself a HD 2006 service manual for Sportster step by step how to adjust choke and all most every other thing you need to know. I'll get around to it this Winter

behind the ****, you'll find a plastic ring that the shaft comes out of. You'll need to loosen the hex nut behind the bracket first (or it will crack,) then you can tighten the ring to firm up it's grip on the shaft... then snug the hex nut back up.

Just my 2 cents--I use the choke also to start in the morning but I have the same problem with it going in also so let it go and keep the rpm's up using the throtle. You dont want to keep it out too long any way or you will foul the plugs I found that out the hard way.

+1 Adjusted properly, the **** should slowly creep towards closed. You will likely have to push the enrichener **** in by hand the final 1/4 of the way. Use the throttle lock star wheel to hold the throttle open to keep the RPM's up till it's warmed up.

Hog doc has it just don't over tighten or it breaks off and get a service manual for your bike, it has a gob of answers to questions like this.
