Question Tires

Will be looking for new tires for the wife's '08 883L- Looking for any and all suggestions concerning brands, size, etc. We do mostly back road riding, not so much on the highway so handling in the twisties is important; she puts about 10-15 thou a year on 'em- Thanks for any suggestions!

I have 6,200 miles on my stock Dunlops and that's what I'll replace them with, although it doesn't look like it will be any time soon. my Winger riding buds all three ride on Dunlops and trust them completely. Plus, they're made right up there in Buffalo, NY. You would fix part of what's wrong with America if you bought the Dunlops.

Over in the UK the Standard Dunlops have the reputation of being Teflon tyres (Non-Stick!). A buddy of mine has put Avon Venom on his 883R and loves them to bits on the twisties! Do seem to be wearing quicker - but then its a balance of being sticker or lasting longer.

Try the search function. There's a ton of info on this very topic. In fact, another guy rejuvenated a thread on this just a few hours ago. Venoms over Dunlops every time.

Metz are the only thing that I will run on my sportster. Good grip and I have yet to have any problems with them. Dunlops were trash.

+1 on the Metzler tires. I love em. I got over 28,000 miles on my first front Metzler tire.

Metzler all the way. The only tire I'll put on my scoots.

If you've got Stage 1, would you upgrade to the 160/80 or stick with the 150/80?

Does anyone have experience with the Michelin's yet? Just a thought.
