Default Total bs

What happened today is just Total BS. I am on my way to work this morning and about 5 blocks from work, as im making a right hand turn, i notice the bike feels funny. Couple more blocks and when i make a left hand turn i feel like the bike is gonna dump over. Get to work and when i come to a stop, the bikes front end feels sloppy. Front tire is flat. I have a 21 inch spoked wheel with a tube inside. Fill it full of air but it goes flat inside of 2 minutes. Ok no problem i think, chance to use my wheel and tire overage which i bought for my bike. So i call the number on the back of the plastic card i was given with my coverage policy and it has to do with H.O.G. I had read that the towing that came with H.O.G. roadside service sucked really bad. Im here to tell you, that for me, it turned out to be soooooo true. What a big ripoff. The lady on the phone is very nice and her voice drips with concern for me. I was informed that HOG will cover $100 for towing and im responsible for the rest. The stealership is 3 miles from my job. When she comes back on the line after finding a tow service to handle my bike, she informs me the total cost will be $150 which means $50 out of my pocket. Thats highway robbery. To make it short, i wait 5 hours for the tow truck and when he finally shows up he has no straps or soft ties or any wheel chock, only a flat bed wrecker. I told him to forget it and he gets all bent out of shape cuz im cancelling and he wont be getting the $50 out of my pocket. I expected H.O.G. roadside to be much more professional and organized. I just had to vent.

Sorry to hear man, but thats why I never buy any of that extra "fluff" every company tries to sell you on when you make a big purchase. i.e. extended warranties, roadside assistance, programs, etc. All that stuff is crap.

Sounds like it's the towing company they contracted that sucks! Did you call and let them know about it? Glass full, glass half empty: you wouldn't have to pay $150 dollars vice $50 for a tow; read the policy and I bet you got what you paid for minus the lousy tow truck operator.

i called back and told them that the company that they sent sucked and that they needed to choose qualified people. I asked the lady who i could complain to, she gave me a 800 number and all i got was voice prompts. I guess it is true that all this extra fluff stuff is worthless.

as I am a H O G member too, and get nothing rather than a little patch/pin and another atlas every year, $45 bux or something like that.(wife pays it)

Hmmm.....You waited 5 hours?....Not me. I could push the bike 3 miles in less than 5 hours.

+1

I never buy the dealer add on crap, they just want you to finance more for a crappy product and service, Get AAA or another roadside assistance company and save some money and stress...

Exclamation

My stator went in rush hour traffic heading into Pittsburgh, PA.

I was able to use an exit ramp and just made a nice flat old construction area to get the bike off the road.

Called HOG and they found the nearest dealer, "Hot Metal Harley-Davidson".

Within 30 minutes they arrived with a huge pickup truck and an enclosed trailer.

They did not have a stator on hand but found a nearby dealer that did. The bike was done in two days.

No complaints here,

Never used HOG for towing but i did have to use Progressive, i had roadside assistance on my policy, i told the operator to make sure the driver had the means to tow a motorcycle and about an hour and half later tow truck showed up at the house and was able to tow my bike to the stealer with no problems.
So i would say not all roadside is bull****, just some.

I used my H.O.G. towing provision after my accident 2 wks. ago. The guy was there in less time than promised. He had the right equipment, was professional and there were no xtra charges. Gave him a tip for his great service.
