My husband layed his bike down about 3 weeks ago, he got pretty banged up ending fracturing his right elbow and left shoulder blade, he was stubborn and didnt go to the doctor until monday after he wrecked uon saturday. Anyway, his bike is being repaired but now he seems to think he doesnt want to ride again. Does any body know off a forum for riders that have had miishapps and depressed about their wreck.
I had an accident 3 wks. ago, not my fault. Still healing and yet to replace my bike, but; I have never thought about not riding when I'm healed. As a matter of fact, all I've thought about is all the riding I'm missing and how I can't wait to get back in the saddle. Yes, it has been very depressing at times, but when I hop aboard my new bike, all will be well with the world again. (well, almost.
I have often wondered what I would do if I ever get hurt on my bike. I try to tell myself I would do like 'CapnAdventure' want's to do, just get back on and ride. But I know it may not be easy. I hope your husband can pull himself back together and as soon as his bike and him our o.k. he can pick that bike right back up and ride. If he can do that, and have fun on his Harley again, he will inspire all of us to do the same... Best of luck to both of you...

and never looked back BUT there are something i do alittle different now
and without that i would be dead right now (since started riding again)
it is hell out on them roads
everytime you throw a leg over the saddle life can change
Please ride safe and a speedy healing

Ive been down on the road 5 times and countless times on the racetrack ( all in my crotch rocket days). Ive wasted new bikes, used bikes, broken bones, road rash, concussions, ect... you just have to get back on it and keep going. Yeah, its a little depressing right afterwards, but he has to realize this kind of thing happens. Get back out and ride and enjoy it.
I would say don't get on if he is truly afraid of riding again.
I got into a pretty serious car accident 3 years ago and it took me several months to feel okay behind the wheel again. I still have flashbacks to what happened. I was lucky to have walked away without injuries...it was a head on at 45.
