Did you try a FXDL? Nighter is also good. I choose a 1200XL. Several to pick. 5'6".

HA. They made it a long time without the MSF. I'll be fine. Please. If we're not gonna talk about my harley, put it in another thread.

(not that you earned me typing this..but I'll take it over the summer in WV where it's $150 cheaper)

I tried the Low. Couldn't.

Like the look of the Nightster, hate the tank.

Not sure where you're going yet with the look but I'd check out Motolights. I've got them on my BMW and a set coming for the Roadster. A lot of light and don't clutter up the front end.

My 2 cents and you can have it for free

Those are awesome, thanks! However, I saw a sporty with the auxiliaries and as hooked. If I add any lights, it'll be those

Sounds like you maybe chose the wrong place to invest? I just took my MSF course at my local Harley shop (where yes it does cost more and yes you do have to listen to harley propaganda) and I feel I learned a ton of valuable info and really improved some of my riding skills.

No. They literally screwed me.The MSF is the ONLY way to get your license here in FL, giving the providers the ability to do/charge whatever the hell they want. The lady neglected to tell me that the Course wasn't taught where I signed up, but at a different location on the other side of town. I went first to where I signed up, to find it abandoned. I called and she THEN suddenly remembered to tell me where the course site was. I scrambled there, and they wouldn't let me in because I was late.

Despite being pissed off, when I called to reschedule I tried to VERY calmly and nicely explain my predicament, and that it was HER neglect and not mine. She was rude, and condescending. I, apparently, am naturally irresponsible, and an idiot because I'm 18. She said that it was her businesses' policy that rescheduling was $80, no matter what reason. She VERY rudely told me I was welcome to go to another state and be tested.

I very calmly tried to reason with her, but lemme tell ya...

After I was done with her, she wouldn't take my $80 to reschedule if it was the last $80 she'd ever make.

Screw you Tammy, you money-grubbing....

Brandon,
When you get your Harley, customize it how you envision it in your mind. That is how you make it yours.
Good luck with that MSF. Sounds like you got a bumm wrap.

I wanna make my Sporty classic as I can. Maybe not really original '57. But classic. Here's what I'm thinking so far:

-Lose the "eyebrow", add trim ring, or visor.

-Real vintage 2-into-1 pipes

-I'm considering Whitewalls. Not set. Considering. Yes, I know 57's didn't have 'em.

-STRONGLY considering auxiliary lamps with relocated turn signals. I saw a sporty with some and loved it.

I wanna get a tan leather colored bobber seat, like the '57s. This is what I need the most info about, are they HARD to install? Pretty uncomfortable?

I'll take any and all suggestions and info. Thanks in advance.
From one WV'ian to another, I'd say to quit looking on the dealer floors, and start looking at used bikes since you're going to be choping it up somewhat. Go with a used custom or something...Customs don't have the eyebrow. You can add a brown springer solo seat from someone like Lick's cycle. Then you can find a used stock exhaust to cut up/welded into a 2-1 and have it re-chromed. Etc. Etc. Make it your own. Oh, and welcome to the site.
