Lusting phase.

Like these guys have said, there's quite a bit you can do and all sorts of eras you can duplicate.
When I first bought mine, I decided to try to replicate something "in general" from the 60's. Replaced quite a few things on mine, mainly using Nightster parts. I thought it gave the bike a much older look to it. Then I topped it off with the headlight nacelle kit and the fork gaiters.
I find it pretty funny when even Harley riders will walk up to it, look it over, and then ask me "how old is this?"
I would like to take the look a little further with an older front fender and some other pieces.
So just remember, you can do a thousand things to a Sportster, and what ever you can imagine, you can pretty much make.

The Tank on the nightester is the classic sportster peanut tank...
Sounds like you want a big twin. The Softail Delux has the lowest seat hight, my 5'2" mom can flat-foot it...
Again, I'm not really going for 'classic Sportster', so much as just 'classic motorcycle'
I HAVE to have they gaiters though. I wasn't sure what they were called.
Were they hard to get on, Shumacher?

Cost is an issue... but so is not getting what you really want now... then going through another transaction later...
I personally love sportsters, but they are not for everyone, and I hate when people get "stuck" with them, when what they really want is a big-twin...
