Default Real Brakes

Has anyone done a brake upgrade on later-models - you know, get rid of the stock brakes and put something on that actually stops? 2005 883L with Progressive 412's. Thanks for advice.

The Nissin calipers work fine when you lose the factory pads and fit them with Lydall pads. No more dust either. Check them out.

I use the gold on my 1200R and the difference to the stock pads was huge. The input and feedback are totally different with no apparent fade at all. When I spoke to the rep at Lyndall last June I was under the impression the blue was more for those folks spending a lot of time at the track or under extreme braking conditions. Those pads have been on the bike for roughly 12,000 miles now and they still look great. As I remember I called in and ordered them because they weren't listed on the web page.

I thought the rear brakes on my 07 worked pretty good,I lock it up just before I through it into a turn so as not to ground out on the left or right, when going fast.

I find the stock brakes fade under continuous moderate braking - running though sweeping twisties in the hills and such. I'm not necessarily looking for race track performance but something that offers more feedback and precision when running hard.

The Lyndall gold will work wonders and eliminate the mushy fade feeling.
