Default COIL anybody?
How can I tell if my coil is going bad? Does it give any pre-signs or is it just either good or bad?? XL1200c

it bogs down and then jumps back to full power....goes for a second and then bogs down and jumps back to full power. It feels like I am hitting the power band on a two stroke dirt bike

Maybe fuel... float...

Pull any codes?

They might tell you something...

A coil can fail two ways, just flat out fail and bike won't start, or it can run ok until coil gets hot and breaks down, let it cool down and you can go again until it gets hot again. If your bike does this right from the start up I would have to agree with dbleagle that it might be the fuel. Hope this helps. Ride safe.

Yea, I think yall are right. That is the way I'm leaning anyway. I thought I would at least get some thoughts on the coil. Thanks yall!

Check the wires that connect to the coil.My bike did the same thing.I changed the coil,wires,plugs,and even the ign module.It wasn't any of those things.It was the 2 cent clip that holds the wire to the coil.I just crimped it down and now it stays on all the time
