Default Mid Mounts With Forward Controls

I want to use the mid mounts, but still run my forward controls.I ground the right mount untill it cleared the brake rod,now I think too much metal is gone, what do you guys think.

thats getting pretty thin, might want to add some 1/4"x1"flat stock to the front and grind it to contour and blend into the mount ?

other than that you could have just taken your brake rod and got an exact measurement then modded it, i would have cut it and added two bent rods to it to wrap around both sides of the mount.

or get a piece of 3/8" rod and weld it to the brake rod where it passes the mount then once welded cut out the stock portion that would interfere with the mount, then just add weld and grind to a smooth transition between the rods.

Kind of didn't want to mess with the brake rod too much,if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't put much weight on that at all. With that being a cast part I think that would break very easily now. I would have looked at offsetting the rod around it or relocating the master cylinder.

should have used kriptanite. Any thing metal can be bent. Please don't do that again, ask a fabricator first.

Way too thin! Repair the mount or get a new one. Then get a piece of stainless rod from a metal supply joint and fab it to clear the mount.

Make a brake rod to mate to the stock mount and then use the stock rod to work the brake. Both sets of mounts will work the brake. The same will work on the shift side too but you need to be a bit more creative. I used that setup on my sporty for a while, didn't like the look so I removed it.

You should have ground a little less then added a few flat washers to pull the mount out a little further the bolt is plenty long enough .That is what I did on my sons bike
