Due to financial crunch my thought of trading the 883 for a Dyna just won't happen.
But my plan to convert my 08-883 to a 1200 is in the planning stages.
Besides a boost in HP and perfomance will a 1200CC converted Sporty be better for HIGHWAY rides ? Will it run COOLER at the same speeds as the 883 ?
I've been reading conflicting information ??---Some say the converted 883 will burn more fuel and OIL and run hotter?? What you say who have done the conversion ?
As a side..I did stop by the dealer and talked about the TRADE IN plan for a DYNA
Got all the way to the CREDIT APP stage and Harley Credit came back with 15.9% interest and minimum 10%down payment.
WHICH IS CRAZY And I consider myself to have decent credit status ??? - Wonder if anyone else is having problems like that ?
Why not just enjoy your 883 the way it is? Do you feel like it's really THAT underpowered? I've never felt like I didn't have enough throttle left at highway speeds, why the rush to do the 1200 kit? That's a lot of money......or a lot of chrome/goodies instead....
we run 70 and 75 all day on road trips sure they rev but you'll be OK
i would not crack the motor till something is wrong.
has that motor let you down yet ?

Swap that 28T counter pulley for a 29 and they will smooth right out and run 70/75 all day long. You'll drop about 450 rpm at that speed.
