Question Question on Cams

Hey guys im thinking about putting new cams in my scoot at some point this summer. What would you guys recommend. I hear alot of talk about andrews. But when it comes to internals im still a noob. Any help would be apprecited.

I've heard good things about the screamin eagle E grind cams, bolt in with lots of torque.

Ok ill take an read up on them. Here's a stupid question prolly. What does the e stand for? Ive noticed alot of cams have letters. An i have no idea what they mean. Thanks AKsavage

Ive been doing alot of research on cams and headwork lately i have a set of the .551 SE cams already but i might end up switching them out in favor of the SE .536 cams ,headwork and pistons. My best advise is do alot of research before commiting to any cams.

I thought you northern guys did that kind of stuff during the winter, not the middle of the riding season.

cHarley all we can do up here is dream about our machines that are buried under covers it's so f'in cold and snowy - - too cold to even wrench..... sad.

I wouldn't waste a dime on CAMS before you port the heads, heads will make more HP than cams.

Niterider(sp?) has a real good read on cams, he also has them charted out for you to see the specs of each cam. go check it out.

Back in the days. When me and the boys used to build race motors, a good cam was worth sh#t unless the head's were done right. Garbage in, garbage out. It's all about air flow. It's like putting two pound's of sh#t in a one pound bag. It don't fit. Get your head's done first, then your cam's can do what they were meant to do. Keep it in the wind..............
