I've been running Michelin Commanders for a couple thousand miles - so far I'm very happy with them - better than the Dunlops I've run in the past.

Mail order, dealer, indy - their available.

I have had the Dunlop 401, K591 and now run the Continental Milestone. I also use the Continental Attack tire on my sportbike. I have used the Avon, which is a great tire but they don't last on the sandpaper we call asphalt. The ME880 Metzeler is a great tire too. I get my tires at

http://www.tireexpress.com/ and they are now shipping for free. I just couldn't beat the price and they ship quick too.

I love the Metzeler ME880! The Avons are good if you want a really sticky tire that will grip the road. The trade off there is, with the soft rubber, they don't last very long. One of the sources I've used for the Metz tire is:

http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/

Check around. There are a lot of websites for tires. I've also used a couple of the other places already mentioned. The best deal just depends on when you are ordering.

Default You *** staying in one piece comes down to around 8 sq in of rubber...

... which is the only thing between a very hard unfriendly road surface, and 600lbs of bike plus your weight (and maybe a pillion too).

And if you're doing 80+ down the straight, flicking through curves or pulling a squealing tyre-smoking stop, that 8 sq in will have be working its little butt off. Way I see it, it's worth knowing that the rubber is up to the job... I'll take grip over tyre life any day of the week. Avon Venom X's for me all the way.

Happy hauling

Default Old thread?

Hi cHarley

Didn't know it was old, I made that up all by myself

Thing about old threads is new guys (like me and maybe 3rdgear here) don't know about 'em... sorry if I bored anyone here, just telling it like I see it. But I'll still take grip over tyre life please...

Bye for now
