Thanks guys...and it's off to paint this evening....had to let the sealer set up for a day. I should have it back from paint in about a week or so, I forgot to get ahold of the gold size for the leaf so while that's being shipped we're just gonna get the base flake, the red, and the scallops all done. Once the leaf gets here in a couple days it goes on, then about 6 coats of clear to seal it all up, lol.
JRK...that's a sweet old peanut! Should look nice all cleaned up on a smaller bobber like a triumph or something!

you want the petcock to be slightly higher than the lowest point in the tank. its an enclosed dark space and over time debris WILL build up in there whether you like it or not, you can rebuild your petcock and replace your fuel filter every month, or you can have the tank designed like this and do it yearly or so.
its really your choice, is it worth the 1/6 of a gallon or so you will save by moving it down?

I like that...that's the gold powder? I'll have to see if I can find that...I decided I'm gonna do the nipples for the spokes in gold too, might be a better solution than trying to paint them.
