Default Plug wires?

I just bought some new plug wires for my 06' 1200C. I took the old ones off and didn't think to pay attention to which cylinder went to what side of the coil. Dumb I know. Thanks for any help.

Could be a real serious mistake if you had more than 2 cylinders. But the 06 I am pretty sure is a wasted spark ignition which means they both fire at the same time. One on the compression stroke the other on the exhaust stroke. Long story short is it doesn't matter which you plug it into. It will work either way. If not it doesn't take very much to swap holes and try again.

One hint on motorcyles that they are wasted spark is that there is only one coil with two coil towers for the plug wires. On older bikes there would be a coil for each cylinder or a distributor if more than one or two cylinders.

Direction matters... All rubber mounts are single fire, no wasted spark.

If you look on the coil housing it will be labeled:F(front) or R (rear). It is difficult to see.

On mine (a 2005) the front cyclinder goes to the left side of the coil (left as you are sitting on the bike, facing forward) and the rear cyclinder is on the right.

You will know if you get them wrong--won't run worth a crap. Then just switch em.

When I was in high school, one of our favorite activities was to pick some nerd's car, or some girls car, and switch a few wires in the distributer cap, and then watch the show. Great fun at the time, but in retrospect, pretty cruel.

On the other hand, we would typically offer assistance after a few minutes, and get them fixed up, lest anyone think I was too evil. Sometimes a good way to meet a girl, and help her out, if you get my drift.
