Been looking into getting a 2:1 exhaust system. I may have to step back and rethink my position, those things are expensive. I just can not see paying $500 Plus for some bent piping. Are there any decent 2:1 systems that are sub $300?
If you are looking into a 2 into 1 exhaust. a few things to know from my experiences. bassani which is what i have on my sporty now is junk. DO NOT buy this thing. heatsheilds dont fit right especially the rear one. leaks and will not hold any kind of seal and is very long. it does sound good and perform well though. also rinehart great pipe good quality but will not fot with forward controls. i found that out the hard way. as far as performance goes nothing will beat a good 2 into 1. its well worth the price. try EBAY for cheaper ones.

Ive had Bassani on both of my bike for 8k. Heatshields fit perfect. Where exactly does yours leak? Who installed it?

Clukenbill you may want to call and talk with the people at Bassani. I have had issues with install never parts quality but they always gone out of their way to help me out.

x2. I NEVER had a problem with there product. I got a pipe scuffed up, i called and told them they gave me 2 options, theyll overnight me one, or refund half of my money no questions asked.
I think if he has leaks at the head then he didnt either #1 tighten the exhaust up enough or #2 put the new gaskets in on install, if hes leaking at the joint there it collects then he tightend it up on the head and put the muffler on. You have to leave everything loose before you go tighten things up...
If none of thats the case call Bassani theyll fix it. Trust me, they will bend over backwards for there customers and there product is absolutly outstanding.
Sometimes you get what you pay for and while 2-1 are expensive the performance is generally worth the expense. However companies that charge extra for heatshields vs. including them are rapists. You also have to think that you're paying for more than 2 slipons and are getting a complete system.
I run the Supertrapp Supermeg with internal tuneable dics (see signature). Very nice setup with excellent sound and power while being tuneable. Due to $$$ I had not planned to get a 2-1 so soon since they are afterall....expensive but if you keep your eye out you can find them for good $$$. I got mine, brand new in unopened box sealed from the factory on eby for only $300 (sells for $500-600) and it was from a Harley Dealer at that just liquidating inventory before Christmas.
