Ok here it is. I have an 09 Nighster, with the p- pad. My problem is that I love the solo look but like to be able to side 2 up if needed. I am planning on doing alot of camping this summer and need to pack my gear on the bike. I really dont want a sissy bar on the nighster but one is needed for a T-bag. Does anybody have any other ideas other than a T-bag or any other way I can mount it?
yes I have thought about detachables, but to buy the sissy bar and mounts and all of that is going to cost about $300 and to pay that for just holding on the gear doesn't seem worth it. but if that is the rout i got to go then it will have to be
I felt the same way. I bought the detachable, mounts, hardware, barkrest pad, etc and it was just over $300. My wife has rode on the back twice in two years. Seems like a waste to me too, but oh well.
ok are u packing luggage and going camping while 2 up? if nto buy the detachable rack or rack that mounts to the seat bolts nd sits just above the fender and strat your gear to that. if its 2 up. you dont really have an option other than a sissy bar since its a sporty and they dont have alotta room for luggage.
As much as I like solo I run the detacheable stuff and rack for trips with the Mrs. or when I need to strap on a tourpack. Its expensive but very handy not to mention my wife would seldom ride anywhere but town without the backrest.

Good question, No I will be riding solo, but I want the passanger seat open (ya never know) The rack you are talking about sits right behind the driver? or behind the passanger? Maybe I will have to fabricate something different.
