Default Suggestions on Bars..

Ok.. As of right now I actually pulled the drag bars off of my bike and put my mom's old softail bars on.. which they look ok I guess.... but I liked the look of the drag bars better.. but the problem is im rather short and its hard for me to reach the bars with the drags.. and my @$$ sits about 3 inches from the back of the seat when im riding.. not to mention that its kinda hard to turn with them.. with the softail bars I can sit back far enought that im in the seat correctly but I just dont like my hands being that hight up.. any suggestions? When I can I'll post some pictures with the new bars..

I like apes personally but you might consider drags on taller pullback risers, drags with more pullback, flat track bars or even HD pullback bars that come back another 2" over stock. Unless your ams are long anything thats not also taller will still cause you to lean fwd. and also having fwds. vs. mid controls would add to that with short/low drags.

I have mids and I think the bike has a 4" riser on it.. Im not sure if it came stock with it but It has one now.. (The bad thing about buying a bike from someone else is that Im having to figure out what was stock and whats not.. )

I think what you have is the 4" straight riser so you could get one of the newer 04 up tall pullback risers which would give you back some reach or you could just find the bars with the right amount of pullback (the bars being the cheaper route). Of course if you went to differnt risers like regular 4,6,8" pullback risers that would work too but then you would have to buy a bracket and relocated your speedo.

True.. and the riser now has the manufacture number on it.. 1030 - 3000 or something like that.. I think I would rather go with difrent bars.. I just thought about this.. any suggestions on maybe a see that puts me closer to the bars..? Thats one of the biggest issues.. when I take off im scared im going to fall off because like I said before im like 2 - 3 inches from the back of the seat.. where it should hit im in the lower back.

Try talking to Chuck at www.ccseats.com about one of his seats and having a little extra padding shaped to bring you fwd.

Default Apes

I am 5'8" and i am very comfortable with mid controls and 12" ape hangers. I rode my cousins fat bob with fowards drags and a wide glide front end and it didn't seem as comfortable to me. Try em out u can always go back.
