i have a 03 883 hugger with a 1200 conversion, and recently i started having touble getting my bike started after i had been riding for a while (stopped to get gas, food, etc.) now it is getting warmer out and the problem is happening when the engine is cold.
when i try to start it, all i get is backfiring and flames out the pipes, and if it does start, it will barely idle and starts couching out the carb while riding.
if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advace.
Sound to me like you have a problem with the ignition system or timing but I'm just guessing it could be any number of things from cams to valves to even the carb.
