I guess its that going slow and feeling like its going to fall over.. the bikes that they were using didnt have enough umph in 1st gear.. but they use those bikes for a reason.. there small sized, small engine, and cheap to fix..

In Texas, you shouldn't need to take the road test if you passed the MSF class.

I took the MSF course, as required by the Marine Corps to be able to operate a M/C. I loved it. I never rode a motorcycle prior to that. They taught me everything. Pretty good class.

I have a Texas License, and I took the MSF course here in NC, took a few days of leave, flew home, walked into the DMV, gave them my license and my MSF card, took the DMV written test, and they issued me a new license. The MSF course waves the riding test. It was so painless.

Ten easy questions when I took it (twenty-five years ago). It can't be harder now than it was then. You'll pass the written test easily I'm sure.

$160 AND you have to take the DMV written test? Wow.

In Illinois it's $20 to hold your place, and you have the option at the end of the course to get your money back or donate it to the program and get a tee shirt. And if you pass the course, you take your card down to the DMV and get your M with no further testing.

I thought it was a fantastic class, my wife is taking it at the beginning of May and I couldn't be happier.

25 questions here in NC. Mine had a few curveball questions but it was fairly easy (just don't wait to long after the MSF course) I suggest a quick read over the DMV handbook. You can download it online in NC. Good Luck!

I got kicked out of an MSF course when I was 17 so I don't have any good things to say about it. Guy told me I had to have parental permission just so you will know. It got pretty ugly when I left. Any way I just went to the DMV and got my license that way. I rode for 6 years without one. The road course took all of 5 minutes. Only cost me 10 bucks so it's cheaper that way. I read a stat and I am sorry I don't have a link but it said that the MSF course was effective only for the first six months of riding for a beginner. After that the accident rates are the same. It didn't say what the rates were for experienced riders that took the course. I know to guys that just got bikes about 2 months ago, they both took the course and they have both crashed. I myself have never been down, so I don't have a lot of faith in it. However, if ya'll had fun then good.
