I dont want to get the 1200 conversion untill my warranty is over. (about two years) I got new pipes and a performance a/c. What other mods can i do to make my 883 faster? Without converting to the 1200 right away? Anyonw know things that work?
You might think about the Twin-Tec TC88A ignition, it will work with your 883 and will continue to work when you convert. It will help you get the best performance out of your current setup.
It will give you a much better timing curve and also allow you to raise your upper RPM limit. It's also programable, and there are some very good MAP's available for it. It's completely bolt in, takes about 30 minutes to install.
If I had an 883 and threw a lot of money at it to make it faster, would I be disappointed when a stock 1200 blew past me? Hmmmm.[sm=escape.gif][sm=escape.gif]
Skull: If you mean "faster away from a stop", then you might try a rear sprocket with maybe two to four more teeth or a primary sprocket with one or two less teeth. Effectively, this will gear the bike lower allowing the engine to hit the max-torque RPM range quicker. The zero to 60 time is decreased, but the top speed available is also decreased. You pays yo' money and makes yo' choice. ........ BC
