Is there a High Flow air cleaner I can run with my stock anniversary ham can housing? And also, what do you think would be the cost of the following, installed:
EZ pull clutch
High flow AC for stock housing
rejet/ Stage 1
Nice loud set of slip ons or pipes
Basic Service
Just got the bike, 1200C 2003 with 2000 miles. I think I remember the dealer saying that a "check up" is 140 dollars. But I figure I will just go ahead and let them service it, instead of paying for both a checkup and a service. It wasn't bought at a dealer. What ya'll reckon this shoud cost me?
For prices, take your list to two or three indies in your area and get prices. Or maybe, buy the parts yourself off ebay or one of the discount shops and just get them to do the labour. Third and cheapest is do the parts and labour yourself, the only thing I can see on your list that you may want help with is the re-jetting, but that is not all that dificult to do and it will teach you a lot about the bike
It's the local HD dealer. I dont know though, the word "stealership" has been thrown around pretty regularly......There are a couple of indy mechanics and dealers around. If I can find a nice loud set of slip ons, I could probably do those myself and the AC if its bolt on....
Since you're not under warranty, IMO you should forget the stealer and find a good indy.
Check out a pair of Cycle Shack slipons, easy to install. Most of the popular AC's are bolt on. If you haven't done a lot of work on bikes or cars before, don't sweat it, you won't break anything, and who knows you might enjoy yourself
